The Faculty of Medicine Novi Sad (MFUNS) is a higher educational institution, founded in year 1960 at the University of Novi Sad, providing higher education study programs. It conducts studies of the first, second and third degree, health specializations, as well as various other forms of studies. Furthermore, it conducts scientific research in the field of medical sciences, social sciences and humanities. More than 500 academic staff contributing to a wide research area, including clinical and preclinical medicine, pharmaceutical sciences, life sciences, classifies the MFUNS as one of the most prominent research institutions in Republic of Serbia. Moreover, a notable record of previous experience in implementation of large number of nationally funded projects, as well as EU funded projects (IPA, Horizon, Erasmus) – both as leading partners and as partners, has been demonstrated for MFUNS.
The Faculty of Medicine in Osijek is a prominent scientific and teaching component of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek, established in 1998 as the first university unit providing higher education in the field of biomedicine and healthcare in Pannonian Croatia. From its foundation until today, the Faculty of Medicine has developed into a leading scientific and teaching national institution that houses 9 teaching institutes, 26 departments and 9 research laboratories. The Faculty currently implements several educational programs, including university undergraduate and graduate studies in medicine, medical-laboratory diagnostics and pharmacy, postgraduate university studies of biomedicine and postgraduate specialist programs, and most recently new graduate studies in medicine and biotechnology, in German and English, respectively. The Faculty’s departments are also at the core of scientific research and professional work, which has so far resulted in the successful implementation of several European (European Social Fund, HORIZON, Interreg, IPA, BIMDANUBE, EFRR, TEMPUS), national (CSF) and university projects.
