Faculty of Medicine Novi Sad Hosts the Workshop “Rheological Characteristics of Blood and the Risk of Thrombosis: From Pathophysiological Mechanisms to Clinical Practice”

Prof. Biljana Vučković, MD, PhD, and Prof. Gorana Mitić, MD, PhD, from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Novi Sad, held a workshop “Rheological Characteristics of Blood and the Risk of Thrombosis: From Pathophysiological Mechanisms to Clinical Practice” on 25 March 2026 at the Faculty of Medicine Novi Sad.

The workshop explored how blood rheological properties – including viscosity, erythrocyte deformability, and microcirculation, contribute to the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying thrombosis. It bridged these concepts with clinical practice by highlighting their diagnostic and prognostic relevance and discussing how rheological insights can support risk assessment and cardiovascular disease prevention. The event was attended by healthcare professionals, as well as researchers in the field of biomedical sciences.
