At the international conference BIOSTAT2025, organized by the Croatian Biometric Society, we have presented the BloodRheoApp project research results on the protection of patients’ private health data. The presentation titled “The Availability of Personal Data within Health Data: Between Legal Requirements and Scientific Needs” especially focused on cross-border data sharing among international scientific teams and has generated a significant number of follow-up questions, demonstrating that this topic is currently of great interest.
The main finding was that many scientists working with patients’ private health data are not fully aware of the importance of pseudonymizing or anonymizing data before sharing it.
